Halloween events, attractionsin Louisville

The World’s Largest Halloween Party.Louisville Zoo, 1100 Trevilian Way, Thursday-Sunday. Enter the Louisville Zoo 5-8:30 p.m. The party provides not-so-scary fun for families and features costumed characters, storybook scenes throughout the zoo, trick-or-treating (for ages 11 and younger), Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow tour, Boo Choo-Choo Train, Spooktactular Carousel, face painting, photos and more. Louisville Halloween Parade & Festival.Saturday, Oct. 6. Festival is located on Baxter Avenue between Highland and Winter avenues, noon-9 p.m.; parade starts at the corner of Baxter Avenue and Broadway, proceeds down Baxter Ave. to Bardstown Road and ends at Mid-City Mall, 6 p.m. Festival features live entertainment throughout the day, craft booths, costume contest, face painting, pumpkin rolling race, haunted bus, vendors and more. Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular. Iroquois Park, behind Iroquois Amphitheater, Oct. 9 - Nov. 4. The show runs daily from dusk to11 p.m.,during the week (Sunday-Thursday), andcloses at midnight on Friday andSaturday. More than 5,000 illuminated jack-o'-lanterns lining a 1/4 miles trail. Haunting: A Lamplit Tour of Death & Victorian Mourning.Conrad-Caldwell House Museum, 1402 St. James Court, 7 and 9 p.m. Oct. 11 and 18. Learn of traditions practiced during Louisville’s Gilded Age, the many deaths that occurred throughout the home’s history and of the lingering spirits who refuse to leave the Louisville castle. Participants are looking to find answers to the mysteries surrounding the disappearance of a group of paranormal investigators. The hunt for the truth will take you on roads you've never seen before and into some of the most terrifying places in Kentucky.
